Some of my friends recently went away on a short holiday to the seaside and asked me to look after their cute cats. Not having any pets of my own (only kids….very different), I was a tad nervous, but found that I ended up enjoying the task. I always got a loud “meeeooowww” when I popped in! I felt so needed!
This is Milkshake…he loves attention.
The other kitty, Tiger very rarely made an appearance so I was never able to sneak a picture of him. It did worry me that I hardly laid eyes on him, but was told that cats do love to go exploring. I think Tiger likes it a bit too much. Unless it was only because “Mom” and “Dad” were away…
Now when you plan to go away, I bet you always try to leave the fridge quite bare – to avoid certain nasty surprises upon your return….. so that made me think of a little challenge…
I suggested that I use whatever suitable leftovers I can find in their fridge and cook dinner for them on home coming day. Bonus both ways – they get a cooked dinner after a long day of driving (sweet!) – and I get to be creative with their leftovers (yay!).
Here’s what I had to work with:
Patty Pans
Baby Marrows
Not so fresh milk
Good supply of garlic, chilli, ginger
Ready made Napoletana pasta sauce
A few chunks of pineapple
Eggs
Butter
Mascarpone
Lime Juice
As with any good mystery box, you don’t need to use every single ingredient…. just make the best you can with what you have (although I must say this was not a bad mystery box at all!)
This is what I came up with:
